Using Behavioural Insights to Improve Effectiveness of Digital Weight Loss Interventions
This project aims to improve digital weight loss programmes using behavioural science insights. With over a quarter of UK adults living with obesity, effective weight management is crucial to prevent diseases like type 2 diabetes and heart disease. However, maintaining long-term engagement with digital weight loss tools is challenging.
Researchers from the University of Oxford and Second Nature, a digital weight management service provider, are collaborating to develop and test new features for these digital tools. The goal is to enhance user engagement and support sustainable weight loss. The project involves analysing data, reviewing existing research, and implementing new strategies in real-world settings.
This study is part of a broader effort to provide scalable, cost-effective weight loss solutions that can be integrated into NHS care, offering valuable insights for healthcare providers, policymakers, and individuals seeking self-managed weight loss support.
