Increasing Access to Psychological Treatments for Adolescents With OCD
Increasing Access to Psychological Treatments for Adolescents with OCD
This project aims to make therapy more accessible and effective for teenagers with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). OCD is a distressing condition that can severely affect young people's lives.
We are working to improve a short form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) by creating user-friendly workbooks for adolescents. These workbooks have been designed with the help of young people who have experienced OCD, their families, and clinicians.
The short form CBT focuses on improving mental health in young people and making therapy more accessible. The goal is to ensure that this treatment is suitable, easy to understand, and helpful for young people with OCD. If it proves effective during routine clinical practice, it can benefit individuals, families, and society as a whole by offering better support for young people with OCD.
