Chidiebere Nwolise

I am a researcher within the Applied Health Research Unit at the Nuffield Department of Population Health working on public health and social care projects. I have an MSc in International Health and Management (University of Aberdeen) and a PhD in Health Sciences (University of Surrey). I completed my PhD in 2018, using a mixed methods design to develop and evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of a preconception care app for women with diabetes. I was awarded postgraduate research student of the year in 2017 by the University of Surrey for my contribution to research and innovation.  

I have experience of both qualitative and quantitative research methods, and been involved in short-term, long-term and multi-site projects. Before joining the University of Oxford, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Edge Hill University and worked on various qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods projects. I joined the Health Services Research Unit to work on a range of projects related to skin cancer, specifically melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma, using patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and investigating patients’ experiences and acceptability of randomised controlled trials (RCTs). More recent research has focused on identification of local needs and co-design of interventions aimed at improving people's health, wellbeing and care in line with priorities of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Oxford and Thames Valley.
