Implementation of the Forensic Outcome Measure (FORUM) in a Regional Forensic Mental Health Service
This project introduces the FORensic oUtcome Measure (FORUM) into forensic mental health services. FORUM is a tool designed to measure patients' progress in these services, aiming to improve patient care and experiences. Forensic mental health services cater to patients with mental illnesses deemed high-risk to others, costing the NHS over £1.3 billion yearly.
The FORUM includes questionnaires for both patients and clinicians, facilitating discussions about treatment and identifying unmet patient needs. By evaluating the implementation of FORUM across multiple wards, this project seeks to enhance patient-clinician collaboration, track outcomes effectively, and give prominence to the patient voice within mental health care. The project engages various stakeholders, including patients, clinicians, and service providers, to ensure the successful integration and wider adoption of FORUM, contributing to better mental health outcomes regionally and nationally.
