Research interests and background
Dr Claire Reidy is a Chartered Psychologist, Implementation Scientist and Health Services Researcher at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences. Claire is currently working on evaluating the rollout of a number of digital health tools and programmes across England, including the NHS App, structured medication reviews and an app to monitor hypertension, using qualitative research methods.
Her research interests lie in digital health, digital innovations and especially digital inequity and digital inequality and underserved populations. Much of Claire's research is grounded in Implementation Science and health psychology, with a particular focus on self-management strategies and support and the part that social networks and social support play in managing long-term conditions (e.g. Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, Hypertension and Parkinson's Disease).
Claire is an experienced mixed methods researcher in diverse healthcare settings, such as in primary care, care in the community, outpatient clinics and voluntary and community groups.
Claire's research has predominately focused on the development, incorporation and use of new technologies in long-term conditions, and strategies to improve the self-management support provided to people living with a long-term condition or comorbidities.
