A Feasibility Trial of the MyPregnancyCare App
This feasibility trial explores a new approach to managing high blood pressure (hypertension) in pregnancy. It will test the real-world effects of women using our My Pregnancy Care app, developed in another ARC project.
The new system for managing hypertension in pregnancy will involve pregnant women using the My Pregnancy Care mobile app to self-monitor their blood pressure daily and test their urine weekly for protein, indicators of pre-eclampsia. This data is shared with healthcare teams, who can then provide timely advice or treatment adjustments. The aim is to detect changes earlier and improve outcomes for mothers and babies.
The study will test whether this method is practical and effective before progressing to larger-scale clinical trials. It represents a significant step towards enhancing self-management in hypertensive pregnancy and could lead to better health outcomes by facilitating early intervention and more personalised care.
