The role of lifestyle interventions in high-risk pregnancies
This project targets improving lifestyle interventions for pregnant women who have pre-existing health conditions, such as hypertension and diabetes. A key component of this research is the development of the DAPHNY (Diet and Activity for Pregnancy Hypertension) App, designed to help manage blood pressure during pregnancy.
The project involved a comprehensive review of existing lifestyle interventions and guidelines, along with qualitative research involving healthcare professionals and pregnant women. The aim was to better understand how to support and promote healthy behaviours during pregnancy, especially in managing chronic hypertension.
The findings, including the DAPHNY App, are set to enhance care for pregnant women with hypertension, providing a more holistic approach to health management during pregnancy.
This research is significant in addressing an area that has received limited attention, offering new insights and potential strategies for healthcare practice.
